How to Get There

Ceylon Tea Trails sits in the Dickoya valley near Hatton, around the Castlereagh reservoir. The airport at Katunayake is around 145 km away, about 4 hours by car, travelling through Avissawella and Kitulgala, then up into the tea country.

If you start in Colombo, it is around 130 km, about 3 hours 45 minutes on the road.

As of October 2026 the hill country line is closed between Kandy and Nanu Oya after Cyclone Ditwah, so the trip from Colombo is by road. Trains do run between Nanu Oya, Ella and Badulla if you are coming from elsewhere in the hills.

Bubble Sri Lanka Holidays can arrange a private car with an English speaking chauffeur for your arrival and departure, or keep the same driver with you for the rest of your trip. Road times are a guide only and can vary with traffic and weather.
