Bentota is about an hour and a half south of Colombo. The river and the beach make it popular with families and water sports fans, and the sea is calmest from about November to April. Bentota is also close to Geoffrey Bawa's Lunuganga estate and the Brief Garden of his brother Bevis.

How to Get There
EKHO Surf sits on the beach at Bentota, beside the Galle Road. The airport at Katunayake is around 105 km away, about 2 hours by car, travelling via the Southern Expressway, leaving it near Welipenna for the coast.
From central Colombo the journey is about 65 km and takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.
The coastal railway from Colombo Fort also runs along this shore, a slower but scenic alternative if you travel light.
To keep arrival simple, ask us for a private transfer with a chauffeur who meets you outside arrivals. You can keep the car for touring afterwards.
