The region is rich in birdlife and butterflies. Birdwatching in Mannar is especially good in the north-east monsoon months, when migrant birds arrive. Wilpattu National Park is within reach for a day safari; ask us about driving times.
Guests stay in chalets, in two types: Standard Chalets and Superior Chalets.
Standard chalets
The entry-level chalet is 17 sqm with twin beds, a large terrace and garden views. It has air conditioning.

How to Get There
Shell Coast Resort sits on the coast of Mannar island. The airport at Katunayake is around 285 km away, about 6 hours by car, travelling north through Puttalam and Anuradhapura, then west via Medawachchiya.
If you start in Colombo, it is around 310 km, about 6 and a half hours on the road.
We can book a private air conditioned transfer from the airport or anywhere in Colombo, and the driver can stay with you for the rest of your holiday if you wish. Road times are a guide only and can vary with traffic and weather.
