The Palmyrah House

The Palmyrah House is a boutique hotel in Mannar, about six hours from Colombo. Mannar is far less developed than other coastal holiday areas, with no shopping malls or amusement parks, so guests have plenty of peace and freedom to relax and recover at their own pace. Planning your stay

Mannar is an island in the north-west, linked to the mainland by a causeway, about six to seven hours from Colombo. Migratory birds are most numerous from about November to March.

How to Get There

The Palmyrah House sits on Mannar island, near the lagoon. The airport at Katunayake is around 290 km away, about 6 hours 15 minutes by car, travelling north through Puttalam and Anuradhapura, then west via Medawachchiya.

Coming from central Colombo instead, allow 6 hours 45 minutes for roughly 315 km.
