Planning your stay
Sigiriya is in the Cultural Triangle, about four hours from Colombo. Climb the rock early in the morning to avoid the heat and the crowds, and allow time for Dambulla and a safari at Minneriya or Kaudulla. Wear good shoes for the climb, carry water, and keep a little time for the museum at the foot of the rock, which explains the site's history.

How to Get There
Sigiriya Jungles sits in the countryside near Sigiriya. The airport at Katunayake is around 150 km away, about 3 hours 45 minutes by car, travelling via Kurunegala and Dambulla, using the Central Expressway for the first part.
If you start in Colombo, it is around 170 km, about 4 hours 15 minutes on the road.
To keep arrival simple, ask us for a private transfer with a chauffeur who meets you outside arrivals. You can keep the car for touring afterwards.
