How to Get There

You will find Sir John's Bungalow within the Knuckles conservation area, on the northern side of the range. The drive from Bandaranaike International Airport covers roughly 170 km and takes 5 hours or so, travelling via Kandy, then out on the narrow hill roads east of the city.

Coming from central Colombo instead, allow 5 hours 15 minutes for roughly 180 km.

To keep arrival simple, ask us for a private transfer with a chauffeur who meets you outside arrivals. You can keep the car for touring afterwards. Allow extra time at weekends and on public holidays, when the roads out of Colombo are busier.
