Villa Santé

Villa Sante is a boutique hotel in Kalpitiya, a coastal town in Puttalam district about 3 hours 45 minutes from Colombo. It has striking architecture and welcomes families and groups of friends, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Around it lies wild country with scrub jungle, marshes and mangroves, good for wildlife trips.

Planning your stay

Kalpitiya is on a peninsula on the north-west coast, about three to four hours from Colombo. Dolphin watching is best from about November to April, and kitesurfing is popular from about May to October and again from December to March. Boat trips leave early in the morning when the sea is calm, so plan an early night before a dolphin watching trip.

How to Get There

Villa Sante sits on the Kalpitiya peninsula, north of Alankuda. The airport at Katunayake is around 150 km away, about 3 hours 15 minutes by car, travelling north up the coast road through Chilaw and Puttalam, then out onto the Kalpitiya peninsula.

If you start in Colombo, it is around 180 km, about 3 hours 45 minutes on the road.
