How to Get There
You will find 98 Acres on a tea estate a few kilometres outside Ella, near Little Adam's Peak. The drive from Bandaranaike International Airport covers roughly 210 km and takes 6 hours or so, travelling through Ratnapura, Balangoda and Haputale, or on the longer but faster route via the Southern Expressway and Wellawaya.
If you start in Colombo, it is around 200 km, about 5 hours 45 minutes on the road.
As of October 2026 the hill country line is closed between Kandy and Nanu Oya after Cyclone Ditwah, so the trip from Colombo is by road. Trains do run between Nanu Oya, Ella and Badulla if you are coming from elsewhere in the hills.
We can book a private air conditioned transfer from the airport or anywhere in Colombo, and the driver can stay with you for the rest of your holiday if you wish. Road times are a guide only and can vary with traffic and weather.
