Planning your stay
Koggala is on the south coast, about 20 minutes east of Galle and two hours from Colombo. The beach season runs from about November to April. Koggala lake has small islands that can be visited by boat, and stilt fishermen can still be seen along this stretch of coast.

Food and drink
The main restaurant serves local, Thai, Chinese and international food, with themed nights and a barbecue every Friday. There is an a la carte restaurant, a cafe bar with Italian coffee and ocean views, a beachside pizza corner with wood fired pizza, and a lounge bar. Breakfast in bed, balcony dinners and beach barbecues can be arranged.

How to Get There
The Long Beach Resort is on the beach at Koggala. From Bandaranaike International Airport it is about 165 km by road, about 2 hours 45 minutes, travelling via the Southern Expressway, then the coast road east of Galle.
If you start in Colombo, it is around 135 km, about 2 hours 15 minutes on the road.
The coastal railway from Colombo Fort also runs along this shore, a slower but scenic alternative if you travel light.
To keep arrival simple, ask us for a private transfer with a chauffeur who meets you outside arrivals. You can keep the car for touring afterwards. Times are approximate and depend on traffic, especially around Colombo.
