Kalutara is about an hour south of Colombo by the Southern Expressway or the coast road, and roughly an hour and a half from the airport, which makes it an easy first or last stop. The sea on this coast is calmest from about November to April.

Junior Suite Rooms
These 46 sqm duplex suites have the bedroom upstairs and the living room below, with two bathrooms and ocean views. Two extra beds can be added, so they also work as family suites.

How to Get There
You will find Tangerine Beach Hotel on the beach at Waskaduwa, just north of Kalutara. The drive from Bandaranaike International Airport covers roughly 75 km and takes 1 hour 30 minutes or so, travelling on the expressways around Colombo and the Southern Expressway, then a short stretch on the Galle Road.
From central Colombo the journey is about 40 km and takes about 1 hour.
The coastal railway from Colombo Fort also runs along this shore, a slower but scenic alternative if you travel light.
