Koggala is on the south coast, about 20 minutes east of Galle and two hours from Colombo. The beach season runs from about November to April. Koggala lake has small islands that can be visited by boat, and stilt fishermen can still be seen along this stretch of coast.

How to Get There
The Fortress Resort and Spa sits on the beach at Koggala. The airport at Katunayake is around 165 km away, about 2 hours 45 minutes by car, travelling via the Southern Expressway, then the coast road east of Galle.
From central Colombo the journey is about 135 km and takes about 2 hours 15 minutes.
The coastal railway from Colombo Fort also runs along this shore, a slower but scenic alternative if you travel light.
We can book a private air conditioned transfer from the airport or anywhere in Colombo, and the driver can stay with you for the rest of your holiday if you wish. Allow extra time at weekends and on public holidays, when the roads out of Colombo are busier.
