3 Nights / 4 Days
This is our simplest beach package: three nights at a four-star hotel on the sand, breakfast and dinner included, with a driver to bring you from Colombo and take you back. It is a good fit as a short getaway on its own, or as a beach extension at the end of a round trip.
Where you stay
We book beachfront four-star hotels around Bentota, Beruwala, Kalutara and Hikkaduwa, usually Turyaa Kalutara, Ekho Surf Bentota or Resort Taprobana, or similar. The drive from the airport, or your address within Colombo city limits, is up to about two and a half hours.
Two days at the beach
Day 2 and day 3 are completely free. A few ideas, if you feel like getting out:
- Water sports in Bentota or Kalutara.
- Snorkelling, diving or a first surf lesson in Hikkaduwa.
- A visit to the Kalutara Bodhiya, the large hollow stupa beside the bridge over the Kalu Ganga.

Day 4: Departure
After breakfast you are driven back to the airport or anywhere in Colombo.
Before you book
The weather on this coast is best from about November to April. In the monsoon months the sea can be too rough for swimming. If you would like a bigger hotel, we also offer a three-night stay at five-star resorts. We can also add nights, excursions or transport days, or upgrade the hotel.
Pairing it
Three nights on the beach is a natural way to end a round trip. The Popular Sri Lanka Roundtrip finishes on the coast, so the two join without extra driving.
Day 1: Airport to the south west coast (up to 140 km, about 2.5 hours by road)
Your chauffeur meets you at the airport or at your address within Colombo city limits and drives you to a four star hotel right on the beach on the south west coast.

Entrance tickets and excursions included: None
Other inclusions: Airport pickup in an air conditioned private vehicle with an English speaking chauffeur
Days 2 to 3: South west coast at leisure
Two days entirely your own. If you want to get out, try water sports in Bentota or Kalutara, snorkelling and diving at Hikkaduwa, or a first surf lesson there. The Kalutara Bodhiya, a large hollow stupa by the river bridge, is an easy short outing. More ideas are on our Kalutara page.

Day 4: South west coast to the airport (up to 140 km, about 2.5 hours by road)
After breakfast you are driven back to the airport or to any address in Colombo. A short Colombo city tour is included if your flight time allows.
